Kaya Fest

Kaya Fest | Buddha Pants®

jumpsuit harem

To start the day at 4 AM is always a great time especially to celebrate Earth Day. Rachel (CEO and owner of Buddha Pants) and I hustled to Bayfront Park Amphitheater in Miami. We arrived early enough to see the beautiful sunrise on the Bay. We set up the Buddha Pants tent and we were ready to start the sales, 2 hours earlier than the festival started. During this time, we were roaming around and talking with the other intriguing vendors, all were eager for the festival to begin. What a rush right from the beginning, listening to everyone so excited to watch the Marley Brothers, Sean Paul, Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill and many more perform. Once the music started everyone was dancing and grooving to the sounds. Some people were even oblivious to the rain and kept dancing. By this time the amphitheater was jam-packed. Personally, although I was a vendor for Buddha Pants I was so pumped and ready to hear Lauryn Hill perform. My childhood dreams were about to come true! Once she finally got on stage close to midnight she played only about 4 songs and then stormed off stage. Honestly, I was disappointed in her performance and her lack of connection with the audience. It wasn’t the Star I fell in love with listening to growing up. Either way, I had an epic time at Kaya Fest from selling Buddha Pants, to meeting other vendors, to listening to live reggae music all day. Hope to see you all there next year!
