We are naturally very creative human beings. Cultivating creativity is extremely beneficial for your mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Here are a few ways you can start incorporating more creativity into your life for more fulfillment.
1.) Writing is a very powerful way to learn new things about yourself. The words that you write do not always have to make sense or be super poetic, but the more you write the more you will be able to explore within yourself. Create a gratitude journal, write your highs and lows of your day, make affirmations or words of encouragement to yourself. The list goes on and on, but the key is to start small.
2.) Move your body! Movement is healthy for the energy flow in the body. When our energy flow is fluent, so is our motivation to create new things. Trying movement that feels good to the body is a very important way to cultivate creativity because you are trying something new, and new feels good!
3.) Try dancing! I have found that dancing is extremely helpful for me when I am feeling stuck in my emotions and unable to express. Expression is creativity. Dancing is expression. Turn on some music and just dance!
These simple techniques might sound like they would not have the power to cultivate creativity, but I promise you that they are very healing to the body. Getting the energy flowing, generating those feel good feelings, and expressing yourself are all beautiful ways to start feeling more creative.
